This is a tribute.
Jrue Holiday has officially won the MVP award — the Tenacious D MVP Award, that is. It’s the second time the award has been given for, you guessed it: Playing tenacious D.
It’s an utterly unique trophy that has people marveling at its incredible shaft and impressive balls. Good on Jrue for appreciating the gravity of the Tenacious D MVP Award enough to receive it in person. Last year Anthony Davis won the award, but wasn’t there to put his hands on it in person.
The next obvious step is to have Jack Black and Kyle Gass handle commentary for an entire NBA game. It’s clear that Tenacious D know ball, and we need something to get us through the dark days of the 2024-25 season without Inside the NBA. Maybe two comic rockers with a deep appreciation for dick jokes is all we need.
Congratulations to Jrue Holiday for this momentous award.
