Sungjae Im went viral ahead of the Presidents Cup thanks to his dance that will no doubt leave you laughing.
“Gangnam Style,” a 2012 song by Korean rapper Psy, refers to a lifestyle associated with South Korean trendiness and high-class individuals. The song also has a famous dance that accompanies it, a dance that everyone of a certain age around the globe knows all too well.
As such, 26-year-old Sungjae Im, who hails from South Korea, got a little excited during Wednesday’s practice round. “Gangnam Style” reverberated from the speakers on the first tee at Royal Montreal, the host of this week’s Presidents Cup. So, Im decided to perform this dance in front of the camera, an ode to one of his country’s most famous K-pop songs.
It is a beautiful sight to see, one that will make you both laugh and smile:
Im is making his third appearance on the International Team at this year’s Presidents Cup. He has a 5-3-2 record overall, winning six points for the Internationals over the past two cups.
He has been among the best players on the International team, ranking among the top point-getters in 2019 and 2022. Only Si Woo Kim won more points than him at Quail Hollow two years ago. But Im proved that he is one of the best dancers on the International team on Wednesday, too.
