Stanford’s marching band did a whole routine mocking the Cybertruck

Published on

Don’t tell Elon.

Virginia Tech’s trip to Stanford was the first ACC game to head to Stanford Stadium and the legendary Cardinal marching band wanted to do something big for the occasion. Big, ugly, and uninsurable.

The show, which was as much about comedy as a marching band, had an entire section titled “The Band Buys a Cybertruck,” which saw some of the band’s budget go to buying a new vehicle, which is all the “rage” as the band called it — while also looking like “a DeLorean designed by a fax machine.”

In case you missed our fieldshows from yesterday’s game against Virginia Tech, here are the scripts!

One of the best unintended benefits of Cal and Stanford joining the ACC is that its made the conference 10,000 times more fun already. It’s almost enough to counteract Clemson and Florida State … almost.

We’ll now wait to see how much backlash the marching band gets online. The only thing that makes people more angry than the regret of buying a Cybertruck and being laughed at is the knowing people are openly mocking them for their godawful purchase.

Stanford’s marching band remains one of the great treasures of college football and with more time in the traditionally buttoned-up ACC it’s going to keep getting better.
