Davante Adams lost to the Steelers twice in one week

A wild statistic this week.

It’s one thing to lose to the Steelers, but entirely another to lose to them twice in a week. Davante Adams achieved a wild goal on Sunday thanks to his trade, which saw him play on teams that lost to Pittsburgh in back-to-back weeks, just seven calendar days apart.

On Sunday, October 13 the Las Vegas Raiders lost to the Steelers 32-13 in a game where Adams was healthy, but inactive as he was on the trade block.
On Sunday, October 20 the New York Jets lost to the Steelers 37-15 in Adams’ first game with the Jets. He caught three passes for 30 yards, failing to make much of an impact.

To be fair, none of this is Davante’s fault. It’s not like he has any control over the defense on either team — and he can’t magically force quarterbacks to be better at their jobs. Still, it’s remarkable to have a situation where a player faced the same team, seven apart, and managed to lose to them twice.

Maybe Adams should have found a way to be traded to Pittsburgh. That might have been a better career move for him than joining Rodgers on the now 2-5 Jets.
