Hello new/old friend.
It’s been a rollercoaster 12 hours for the New York Jets. Disappointed Jets fans woke up Tuesday morning following a crushing loss to the Bills, but then everything immediately got better with the breaking news that the team had traded for Davante Adams.
This made the timing perfect considering Aaron Rodgers’ weekly appearances on The Pat McAfee Show, and this time he had a special guest step in to say hi.
The Jets made a low-risk, high-upside deal that they hope will put them over the top. New York landed Adams for a 3rd round pick, which will become a second if the receiver is named a 1st or 2nd team All-Pro, or if he plays in the AFC Championship Game. It essentially insulates the Jets from dropping serious draft capital if New York doesn’t achieve its goals, and the deal was less than most people expected.
Now Rodgers and Adams are back together, and we’ll wait to see if this all pays off.
