Just one day removed from her efficient debut as a Sun, Marina Mabrey is revealed to be the newest addition of Unrivaled, the new three-on-three basketball league aimed at keeping WNBA stars at home during the offseason.

The list of WNBA players who have committed to playing in the Unrivaled Basketball League is continue to grow. On Saturday, the Sun’s Marina Mabrey was announced as the latest addition to the 30-player slate — so she’ll head to Miami in January to participate in a three-on-three league for the WNBA’s top players.

Mabrey is averaging 14.1 points, 4.5 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game this season, and is one of the more prolific scorers in the league. She spent the first half of the season with Chicago, but was shipped from the Sky to the Sun last month after requesting a trade. In her debut for Connecticut on Friday night, she enjoyed an efficient 17-point outing.

The 27-year-old brings a competitive edge and a steady three-point shot — she’s hit 36% from beyond the arc in her career — and is known for a fiery streak that makes her a difficult opponent.

“She’s a dawg,” Alyssa Thomas said at Sun practice earlier this week. “She wants to win.”

Now, Mabrey joins an illustrious list of players who will forego international play during the WNBA offseason and instead participate in a new three-on-three league spearheaded by stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. The league also includes a one-on-one tournament, with the winner receiving a minimum prize of $250,000.

13 WNBA stars have officially committed to Unrivaled

With Mabrey’s addition, the list of WNBA basketball players committed to Unrivaled now includes:

Breanna Stewart (Liberty)

Napheesa Collier (Lynx)
Arike Ogunbowale (Wings)

Chelsea Gray (Aces)

Jewell Loyd (Storm)

Kelsey Plum (Aces)

Rhyne Howard (Dream)

Kahleah Copper (Mercury)

Jackie Young (Aces)

Angel Reese (Sky)

Dearica Hamby (Sparks)

Kayla McBride (Lynx)
Marina Mabrey (Sun)

So far, the only WNBA teams without an announced Unrivaled player are the Mystics and Fever. But, there’s a good chance Caitlin Clark could be joining — Napheesa Collier revealed on X that four rookies are in the mix, and only one (Angel Reese) has been announced.

Asked about potentially joining Unrivaled earlier this week, Clark was noncommital.

“Honestly, I’m just focused on this right now,” she told reporters Tuesday. “One thing at a time. Can’t always just be moving on to the next. My focus is right here.”

Another 17 names will be announced over the course of the next few weeks.
