Hamburg and St. Pauli are currently atop the table in the Bundesliga second division. The two clubs met for a match on Friday that produced one of the most captivating soccer highlights of the year, but it happened for all the wrong reasons.
Hamburg’s defender played the ball back to the keeper, and that was a poor decision. The Hamburg goalie, in an attempt to clear the ball, accidentally scored one of the most humiliating own goals you will ever see. Watch the clip here:
Really, this ball never should have been played back to the keeper. The lack of touch on the ball put the keeper in a bad position, and he created the worst outcome possible by blasting the ball into his own net.
