Commanders QB Jayden Daniels is getting his ribs checked out in Week 7.

Jayden Daniels has been a rookie star for the Washington Commanders at quarterback. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft has been lighting it up to begin his pro career, and he figured to continue his hot play in a matchup against the pitiful Carolina Panthers in Week 7.

Daniels exited the game in the second quarter with what appeared to be a midsection injury. Daniels was being examined by team doctors on the sidelines, and when Washington regained possession, backup Marcus Mariota took the field. Daniels was escorted to the locker room by team trainers.

Daniels is reportedly getting X-rays in the locker room, according to NFL Red Zone. Daniels is questionable return with a rib injury:

#Commanders say Jayden Daniels is questionable to return with a rib injury. He’s gone to the locker room with Marcus Mariota in the game.

Washington can’t afford to miss Daniels for any amount of time. Washington’s next game is a rookie QB showdown with the Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams.

We’ll update this story as it develops.
