In an interview with Howard Stern, Vice President Kamala Harris noted that she is a ‘huge’ F1 fan
In less than a month Americans will head to the voting booth for the 2024 Presidential Election. As campaign season heads into the final stretch the two major party candidates, former President Donald J. Trump and current Vice President Kamala Harris are crisscrossing the country, bringing their closing argument to the voters.
Vice President Harris has been on a media blitz this week, sitting down for an interview on 60 Minutes, sitting down with Alex Cooper on the popular Call Her Daddy podcast, and joining the hosts on an episode of The View. The Vice President also sat down with Howard Stern for an interview on The Howard Stern Show and shared something many probably did not know.
She is a big Formula 1 fan.
“It’s so good. We love [Formula 1],” Harris said. “Our whole family does.”
Stern pushed back, wondering if that was a “campaign thing,” but the Vice President was clear that this was no campaign stunt. “No, God no. Actually, I haven’t been able to watch it a lot recently because I am campaigning. Also, depending on where they’re driving, the time of day, you’ve got to wake up [early].”
Vice President Harris also indicated she was a Lewis Hamilton fan, while noting that he was leaving Mercedes at the end of the season.

This is not the first time F1 has played a role in the 2024 Presidential campaign. Back in May, former President Trump visited the Miami Grand Prix, stopping in McLaren’s garage ahead of the race itself. With the grid heading to Texas for next week’s United States Grand Prix — and recent polling showing a tight race in Texas where 40 votes in the Electoral College are on the line — could we see one, or both, candidates in Austin next week?
One thing is clear however: Vice President Harris is an F1 fan, and thinks skeptics, like Stern, should give it a shot.
“You should see it, you might get hooked,” the Vice President told the host.
F1 fans would agree.
