This kid reporter didn’t know what was coming when she asked Mike Tyson about his legacy.
Mike Tyson is back in the spotlight for his fight against YouTube prankster Jake Paul going down Friday on Netflix. At 58 years old, Tyson is far removed from his heyday as one of the most ferocious boxers of all-time. This fight against Paul offers an opportunity for younger sports fans to learn about his career who weren’t even born for his stretch as the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987-1990.
The pre-fight build up between Tyson and Paul has been full of shenanigans. Paul stepped on Tyson’s toe with his shoes on during weigh-ins, and Tyson responded by slapping him across the face. Paul doesn’t just have a 31-year age advantage on Tyson, he also has a longer reach by five inches. What he lacks, though, is the wisdom that comes with age.
Tyson gave an interview to a kid reporter this week, who asked the former champ about what type of legacy he wants to leave behind when it’s all said and done. Tyson answer is … incredible. Just watch it:

“Legacy doesn’t mean nothing,” Tyson starts. “I’m just passing thorugh. I’m going to die, and it’s going to be over. Who cares about legacy after that?”
“We’re nothing. You’re dead. We’re dust. We’re absolutely nothing. Our legacy is nothing.”
The kid reporter handled this with so much poise. If the boxing match between Tyson and Paul is as entertaining as this interview, fans are in for a hell of a fight.
