Video footage of Scheffler’s arrest finally became public and the PGA Tour fans had a hay day with it as they trolled LMPD.

New footage of Scottie Scheffler’s arrest last Friday surfaced on Thursday morning after the Louisville Metro Police Department held a press conference.

The Louisville Mayor stated that the video would speak for itself. However, it appears to have done the complete opposite. PGA Tour fans saw the footage and immediately noticed differences in the LMPD’s evidence.

Scheffler called it a misunderstanding, but it looks as if he will still have to appear in court.

After LMPD released the two videos, the footage matched what Scheffler’s defense attorney, Steve Romines, had said all along: his client did nothing wrong.

Many questioned the video and if it matched the police report. Most of the reactions to these videos, though, were comical. They did not hesitate to troll the police department.

After watching the video, fans joked about the kind of sentence Scheffer should get. X user Angie Smith clearly has a great sense of humor.

Surely he deserves the death sentence for this. https://t.co/YCq5yLRswB

After all, the LMPD charged Scheffler with second-degree assault, which is a felony.

If one looks at the police report, Officer Bryan Gillis says he was dragged, but the pole cam video shows otherwise.

Shooter McGavin also weighed in with an Officer Gillis joke. Many chose to troll him since the evidence does not seem to add up.

X user Emerson Lotzia, Jr. nailed this reference to how sports historians will retell what happened at the 2024 PGA Championship.

From Rory McIlroy’s divorce announcement to Scheffler’s arrest, this reaction checks both boxes off.

However, one of the funniest reactions has to be from user Whirlybird, who insinuated what actually happened to those $80 pants that were damaged beyond repair.

So the officer shit himself and ruined his pants I guess? https://t.co/9cAQJt0RHT

These are just a few hilarious reactions to the pole-cam footage. Golf Twitter again shows why it is unique and special to the sport.

Scheffler’s arraignment is on Monday, June 3. His lawyer noted that if the charges were not dismissed, they would take the case to trial.
