Hull does not know how to be anyone but herself. It is a huge reason so many people resonate and gravitate toward her.

Charley Hull is taking the world by storm as she gains more fans for being unapologetically herself. She continues to be one of the most relatable ladies on the LPGA, which draws in many eyes.

Who knew her smoking cigarettes would make her a fan favorite? Granted, she plays good golf and is incredibly talented, but she still does not act like anyone else.

Ahead of the Solheim Cup, Hull borrowed a fan’s lighter during a practice session to smoke again. It led to her thinking about why so many people like her.

“Well, I’m just myself. I — I’m myself. If I like things, I like it for myself,” Hull said. “If other people don’t like it, well, it’s not their life. I love me. I live my life the way I want to live it, not how anyone else wants me to live it. I live like a normal person.”

Being yourself is not always the most attainable goal, but for Hull, it appears easy. Even her best friend, Georgia Hall, has a reason why so many like Hull.

“She’s different than everyone else, and that’s why people love her, and that’s why like — she’s just really fun to be around and a genuine, kind person,” Hall said. “A great golfer, so obviously that helps. Yeah, she doesn’t care what anyone thinks and goes about her life how she wants. I think many people can learn from that.”

Hall is spot on about how many people can learn from how Hull handles things. Being unapologetically herself means that she can live without the pressures of wondering what others think and enjoy life. There are different definitions, but confidence is a big thing for people. They gravitate towards individuals who embrace themselves.

It is easy to see why so many people like Hull. Golfers tend to be very quiet and unapproachable, but not this Englishwoman. She loves herself and does not care if anyone else does. Hull sets the example, and more should follow that mindset.
