The Los Angeles Golf Club has called in Tony Finau, who will make his TGL debut in the team’s next match.

TGL’s Los Angeles Golf Club announced that Tony Finau has signed a one-match contract with the team and will play alongside Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala in Monday night’s match.

Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose both have pre-existing commitments and cannot play. Hence, Finau will join Los Angeles for its match against New York Golf Club, set for 5:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

“I’ve watched many of the TGL matches these past six weeks and I’m looking forward to getting a chance to be a part of it and compete. Team golf is always fun and exciting,” Finau said.

“Collin, Sahith, Justin, and Tommy are great guys I respect and enjoy being around. I appreciate Los Angeles Golf Club calling me up for this match. I’m excited to get to SoFi Center. The place looks electric, and I can’t wait to see it all first-hand and practice with the team. Monday is going to be a fun night.”

A clause within TGL’s rulebook states that teams can call another player to join should two or more players become unavailable for a match. The only requirement for any additional player is that they are a PGA Tour member in good standing, and Finau fits that bill.

Finau has six PGA Tour titles to his name, with his most recent victory coming at the 2023 Mexico Open. He has also played on three Presidents Cup teams and two Ryder Cup teams, posting an 8-7-0 overall record in those competitions. The Utah native will make his SoFi Center debut fresh off a T-5 finish at the Genesis Invitational last week.
