Which wide receivers will shine in Week 4 for your fantasy football teams? We’ll take a look at all of them in our PPR rankings.
Hello all! Welcome to Week 4 of the full PPR wide receiver rankings! It is truly amazing how quickly the season moves once you get on this train. So, let’s savor the fun while it lasts! This week, as most weeks, injuries will push many fantasy start/sit decisions this way and that. The Eagles, 49ers and Rams have multiple stud pass catchers hurting, but for the 49ers that helped Jauan Jennings to a career day and for the Eagles we saw tight end Dallas Goedert go off as targets funneled to him. As for the Rams, running back Kyren Williams was the benefactor of their receiver injuries. So, injuries are going to impact fantasy, but you don’t always know exactly how.
Week 4 wide receiver injuries
Cooper Kupp, Rams
Kupp hasn’t been put on I.R. due to his ankle injury, but head coach Sean McVay said he would not be available for Week 4. Of course, the Rams other stud receiver, Puka Nacua, is currently on I.R. and looks to be out longer than the four games he must miss on I.R.
Nobody has really stepped up for the Rams at receiver, but running back Kyren Williams saw a ton of usage in their stead. Tutu Atwell saw his snap count go way up in Week 3 and he managed a good game with four receptions for 93 yards. But, targets were very spread out and I don’t think we’re going to see much consistency from Atwell. But, he should have the most upside due to his ability to get deep.
DeVonta Smith, Eagles
Smith took a nasty hit to the head and neck area in Week 3 and was forced from the game due to a concussion. There’s really no way to tell if he’ll be able to clear concussion protocol until it happens or not, but if he can get out on the practice field early in the week, that’s usually a good sign.
AJ Brown, Eagles
Brown didn’t practice last week as he heals from a hamstring injury. With an injury like this, I’m sure the team will want to see him go all out and not have any setbacks before getting him back. There is a reasonable chance he could miss another week.
Deebo Samuel, 49ers
Samuel continues to deal with a calf injury and didn’t practice last week. It would be surprising to see him suit up this week, but we’ll need to stay abreast of the practice reports this week. If he can’t go, Jauan Jennings gets another significant boost, but some of that boost will depend on George Kittle’s health as well.
Jordan Addison, Vikings
Addison didn’t practice last week, but head coach Kevin O’Connell believes Addison has a chance to play this week. Jalen Nailor has played well with him out, but Addison’s presence would cut into Nailor’s opportunities.
Tank Dell, Texans
Dell got banged up in Week 3, as he took a shot to the ribs and was dealing with a wrist injury. But it does sound like he managed to avoid any significant injuries, per Aaron Wilson.
Adam Thielen, Panthers
The Panthers placed Thielen on I.R. with a significant hamstring injury. His absence appeared to mainly boost Deontae Johnson’s usage in Week 3, but Xavier Legette could see a bump in usage as well.
Week 4 wide receiver sleepers
Michael Wilson/Greg Dortch, Cardinals vs. Commanders
The Commanders, even in a big win against the Bengals on Monday night, continue to give up big fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. They’ve now allowed nine touchdowns to wide receivers in just three games. This game also has the Cardinals with the highest implied total, so there should be plenty of fantasy points to go around.
Both Wilson and Dortch have flex appeal in this matchup, but if Tre McBride can’t go due to his concussion, I’d feel even better about getting them into my lineups, especially Dortch, who will be needed underneath.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seahawks at Lions
The Lions have had trouble with slot receivers this season, as both Chris Godwin and Cooper Kupp have had their way. That should help Jaxon Smith-Njigba return to a heavier workload like he had in Week 2. Last week he saw just three targets, but the Seahawks also held the Tua-less Dolphins to just three points and weren’t forced to press. I see JSN being a clear top target in this game and the Lions are too good to not to get a lead or at least keep the game close.
