Titans head coach Brian Callahan was not alone in wondering what Will Levis was doing on this play
For Will Levis, the quarterback of the Tennessee Titans, Week 2 of the NFL season began much like Week 1 ended.
A week ago the second-year passer threw a disastrous Pick-Six, a play that had us wondering here at SB Nation if the quarterback’s mayonnaise-inspired fragrance had somehow impacted his decision-making skills. That decision also gave us a mid-play “surrender cobra” from Levis, already the NFL Meme of the Season.
Well, those questions have arisen again.
Midway through the second quarter of Tennessee’s game against the New York Jets, Levis and the Titans were driving, deep in New York territory. Facing 3rd and goal, however, Levis decided to do … this:
After first looking to the right side of the field, and the “whip/under” route from Tyler Boyd, Levis starts to climb the pocket as pressure builds around him. Then, in what we can optimistically describe as a last-ditch effort to try and make something happen, Levis — while falling down — tries to flip the ball to running back Tyjae Spears.
The result, perhaps predictably, led to a turnover as the Jets pounced on the loose football.
I mean, I’m not one for “screenshot scouting” but we now might have our second NFL Meme of the Year contender from Levis:
As you might expect, Titans head coach Brian Callahan had some … questions:
The coach did not stop there:
Callahan was not alone in asking questions about that play.
I’m sorry but Will Levis is one of the dumbest QBS I’ve ever seen

Will Levis has worse football IQ than Carson Wentz.

Will Levis just did it again.
He carelessly fumbled the ball inside the 10-yard line.
CBS panned to head coach Brian Callahan, who sure looked to be saying “What the f*** are you doing?”

Hopefully for Levis’ sake, he can find some better answers over the rest of the game.
