Xavier Legette scored his first NFL TD then pretended to ride a horse

Panthers rookie Xavier Legette had the perfect celebration for his first NFL TD

Here at SB Nation, we have not exactly been shy about our appreciation of Carolina Panthers rookie Xavier Legette.

Earlier this summer we talked about this video the NFL put together pranking some of the incoming rookies, with the sub-headline “We must protect Xavier Legette at all costs.” We also shared his incredible background, including losing both of his parents. Legette entered the league with both an emotional backstory, and the accent to match.

The Panthers rookie is certainly easy to root for, and on Sunday, he accomplished something for the first time in his NFL career.

He reached the end zone.

Legette pulled in his first NFL touchdown pass on a crossing route, with Andy Dalton putting a perfect throw on the rookie for the score. From there, Legette celebrated as you might expect given his background.

By pretending to ride a horse:

What’s more? He told us this was coming:

It has been a difficult week down in North Carolina, as residents start to recover in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Hopefully the Panthers, and their fascinating rookie, can help in some small way.
