Harman summed up Tiger Woods perfectly after the first round of the Hero World Challenge, and it paid homage to his Dawgs.
Brian Harman flexed his muscles in the Bahamas on Day 1 as he co-leads with Tony Finau at the Hero World Challenge. They both shot 5-under 67s to lead by one.
While Harman played well Thursday, the world is more enthralled with the return of Tiger Woods. The media asked him his thoughts on Woods’ return and, in typical Harman fashion, he gave such a great answer.
“Well, the guy’s in phenomenal shape. Looks like he could suit it up for the Dawgs on Saturday,” Harman said. “He is one heck of an athlete. I hope he feels good; I hope he’s moving good, I hope he’s pain-free and can play a little bit more.”
His quote is spot on because Tiger is built like a linebacker. Woods is flat-out jacked right now.
Harman, the former Georgia Bulldog, is a massive football fan. So, it’s hilarious that he said what he did. No one but Harman would think to say Woods looks good enough to suit up for the Dawgs.
He likely has them on his mind. Georgia is set to play Alabama in the SEC Championship Game Saturday, with a College Football Playoff berth on the line.
The 2023 Open champion must have been inspired by his Dawgs with the way he played Thursday.
He carded nothing but birdies and pars until 18 when he finally dropped a shot. But once again, like at Hoylake, his putting and short game were phenomenal. If his play in the first round is any indication of what we are to see from Harman in the 2024 season, another major title might just be in the future.
