We’re still a little ways off from the start of college football and the NFL, but the best football video of the year has already dropped. It’s not a spectacular catch or a mammoth hit, but a mom heading straight from work to football practice to teach her son some blocking fundamentals.
This is just some A+++ parenting. Mom doesn’t go easy on her son and coddle him, but she’s patient, warm, explains why you block, and then praises him when he gets the technique down. It also really helps that she knows ball to the point where her son can learn first step footwork and technique, even at a young age.
More importantly than all this though is that she’s taking the time to invest in her son’s interests. Even if he only plays one season of football and decides it’s not for him, this boy knows that his mom is always there to back him up and support him.
That makes this the video of the year.
