The Cowboys lost in embarrassing fashion. The stadium then managed to embarrass the organization further.

The Dallas Cowboys are sitting at 3-3 after losing in embarrassing fashion to the Detroit Lions in Week 6. The Cowboys lost 47-9 and it was an endlessly embarrassing performance. They nearly gave up 50 points at home and decided it made sense to attempt a field goal down 34-6 midway through the third quarter.

The embarrassment didn’t end there. Shortly after the game ended, the X (formerly Twitter) account for the Cowboys stadium decided to post a tweet with the attendance total. 93,644 fans were on hand for a truly embarrassing display. And somehow, AT&T stadium decided to make the result all the more embarrassing.

is it us or is the scoreboard a little blurry? https://t.co/TIFeprUrGc

Yep, the stadium X account decided to blur out the score on the graphic showing the attendance figure.

Sports facilities have gotten in on the social media game, with most stadiums having an X account to promote events and notable attendance figures to fans. Some of the more hardcore fans might follow such accounts, but the following is significantly smaller than those of the main team accounts. The AT&T Stadium X account has 117,000 followers while the Dallas Cowboys X account has 4.4 million followers. The Detroit Lions account that quote-tweeted the blurred scoreboard has 1.7 million followers.

It might have slid by, but with the Lions dunking on it, we can expect plenty more folks dunking on this absurdity. And I as a San Francisco 49ers fan am entirely hear for it. I get not wanting to show the score, but they easily could have found a photo of the crowd that did not show Jerry Jones’ massive scoreboard. I get that it’s big, but you’re telling me they couldn’t get a single other photo of the field that didn’t require blurring out the score?
