The LPGA’s final major of the season is here as the best in the world take on St. Andrews for the AIG Women’s Open.
The LPGA hosts its last major championship of the season this week at the Home of Golf, aka St. Andrews.
With a $9 million purse, the stakes are high. Lilia Vu comes in as the defending champion after her incredible performance last season. This victory was one of four for the former World No. 1 in 2023.
Here are the things to know for the final major of the year: the AIG Women’s Open.

How to Watch the AIG Women’s Championship
NBC and USA will share television coverage for the AIG Women’s Open at St. Andrews. The ladies are in Scotland, five hours ahead of the East Coast.

AIG Women’s Open Preview
The ladies’ Open Championship will be at St. Andrews for the first time in over a decade. Stacey Lewis was the last major champion to hoist the trophy at the Home of Golf in 2013.
Defending champion Lilia Vu will look to win her third major and sixth LPGA career title. She played well at the start of the Olympics but could not put four solid rounds together.
Her back injury kept her out for months this season, but now she appears healthy, which could be trouble for the rest of the field.
This week will feature Gold Medalist winner Lydia Ko coming into this tournament with so much momentum. If Ko plays as well as she did in Paris, watch out; the Kiwi could win another major.
Charley Hull did not have her best stuff in Paris, but she seems healthy again after injuring herself a few weeks before the Olympic Games. She got better as the week went on, and now the Englishwoman has the chance to win a major at one of the most iconic venues in golf.
Nelly Korda will also look to win her second major in 2024 and her seventh victory of the season. She has not had her best form recently but showed some flashes in Paris.
It would be the cherry on top of her season if she won at the Home of Golf.
St. Andrews will challenge the women this week, but whoever can avoid the rough and work with the wind will be victorious.
