Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones appeared to suffer a leg injury in Super Bowl LIX
The Kansas City Chiefs are going to have to make some Super Bowl history if they are to become the first team to win three straight Super Bowls, as they trail the Philadelphia Eagles by 24 points midway through the third quarter of Super Bowl LIX.
Now that task has gotten a little tougher, as standout defensive tackle Chris Jones is dealing with leg injury.
With the Eagles driving late in the third quarter, Jones pulled up limping after a play deep in Kansas City territory. He was favoring his right leg as he limped away from the play, and then went to the turf at the Caesar’s Superdome.
Jones was seen adjusting the big knee brace on his right leg as FOX Sports cut to a commercial as the Eagles called a timeout before a third-down play. Jones was not on the field for Kansas City on the subsequent third down, as his right knee was being examined by trainers.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
