Cooper Flagg detonated a Pitt defender for his best dunk yet at Duke

Cooper Flagg’s thunder dunk over a Pitt defender is the first of many posters.

Cooper Flagg is finally a man. The Duke freshman entered school as a 17-year-old after reclassifying to start his journey to the NBA a year early, but he turned 18 in Dec. and has been playing like a superstar ever since. Flagg dropped 24 points in back-to-back games in wins over SMU and Virginia Tech, and he was back to dominating the action as Duke took on Pitt on Tuesday night.

Early in the second half, Flagg showed off his remarkable leaping ability after grabbing a steal. Flagg pushed the ball down the floor in transition. took off with one-foot from the edge of the paint, and hammered home a one-handed dunk over a Pitt defender. We have the best poster dunk of Flagg’s freshman season. It’s a highlight you’re going to see a bunch as he prepares to become the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

The alternate angle is even better:

Read our feature on how Flagg grew into the NBA’s next super prospect.

Flagg is unique among superstar prospects in a lot of ways, including that his defense is better than his offense at this stage. His combination of ideal size and elite athleticism for an NBA four unlocks so much of his two-way ability, and when he’s out on the break, very few players alive are going to stop him.

Flagg is far from a finished product, and has shown a few areas of improvement during his freshman year. Even as Dylan Harper has put together a tremendous season at Rutgers, I still believe there should be no doubt Flagg is the top prospect in the 2025 draft. First, he’s going to try to take Duke on a March Madness run to remember.
