Drake Maye thinks British NFL fans should support the Pats because they’re from ‘New England’

Some children were left behind.

The Patriots are in England to take on the Jaguars this weekend and rookie quarterback Drake Maye was asked why the local fans should pull for the red, white, and blue of his team.

Drake Maye asked why English fans should support the Patriots:

Bless his heart.

Okay, so let’s ignore the obvious of the PATRIOTS representing soldiers who fought a war against England and succeeded in winning our independence. Let’s just use Maye’s logic to work out other places that should support specific teams in the USA based exclusively on the use of the word “new” in front.

Those living in York, England have to be fans of either the New York Jets or the New York Giants, by extension if you live in Jersey you also need to support these teams because they play in New Jersey
French fans living in Orleans must support the New Orleans Saints
Our neighbors south of the border need to pull for the New Mexico Lobos in March Madness
German fans are Green Bay fans by extension, because of New Berlin, Wisconsin
Swiss fans unfortunately are now Carolina Panthers fans, because of the popular vacation destination of New Bern, North Carolina

The only downside to all this is that if New York plays New England in New Jersey we have absolute anarchy in the U.K.
