Take a trip down memory lane, and let’s look at the last 10 winners of the Open Championship and how they won the Claret Jug.

Welcome to Playing Through’s morning ritual — Golf Talk Today.

Each morning the crew will discuss various elements throughout the PGA Tour, LPGA, LIV Golf, and more.

Welcome to Day 3 of the Open Championship week at Royal Troon.

Today’s topic is golf fashion!

There cannot be a major without discussing the various fashion scriptings that players will wear.

The majors are usually when brands bring out the wow moments, and so far, they have.

Not all have been impressive, but a couple have piqued my interest.

Brew a pot of coffee, grab some breakfast, and settle in as we get you ready for the oldest major championship week.

The best and worst of The Open golf fashion scripting

Some brands pull out new things for their players to wear, while others do not.

Viktor Hovland’s scripting is full of J. Lindeberg’s new stuff. The pattern is different from what we’ve seen. It is slightly muted but bold enough. The Open is traditionally an event to keep fashion classic.

Hovland’s scripting does that without losing the boldness everyone typically sees in him.

Akshay Bhatia wears Greyson Clothier, and his theme for the Open Championship week is blue. Three of the four days feel like we have seen it before, but that Saturday look is nearly perfect.

The patterned shirt, baby blue pants and dark navy (almost black) sweater scream traditional but trendy.

I would love to see Bhatia in more pinks and purples, but it seems blue is the vibe this week. His Greyson scripting for the tournament is better.

Justin Thomas’ scripting is boring. It is my least favorite piece on this list. Fans have seen him wear many of these pieces before.

While I do like some of the items, they just feel uninspiring. The green pants and navy polo are my favorites of the four days. The rest of it is unoriginal and not enough for a major.

Give us something else because Thomas used to be one of the best dressed on Tour, but now we get the same stuff week after week when it could be phenomenal.

Another boring scripting is Jordan Spieth’s because, once again, we have seen these patterns and color choices.

Please, someone at Under Armour put this man in something other than blue, green, white or black. These outfits are all classic looks, but they are things we have seen already.

Spieth is another I would love to see in color because his skin tone can handle it.

My favorite among the scriptings I found is Jason Day — to no one’s surprise.

Malbon Golf loves creating a moment, which they did with this week’s outfits.

Thursday’s vertical striped cardigan is fantastic. Those colors will look fabulous on Day. The all-black on Friday gives the traditionalists a moment to appreciate.

Saturday is probably my favorite of the four looks. The green checkered board sweater looks incredible. They paired it with a beanie and brown pants to pull it together.

Sunday’s navy pants with an off-white sweater are another classic look. I like the mixture of cool and trendy with traditional elements.

This is how you do scripting for the oldest major championship.

These are the scriptings I have discussed so far, but if I find more, they will be posted here. With it being a major championship, we are watching golf fashion and will keep the fans updated.
