Squirrel brain, anyone?

Jerry Jones is country as hell. On Tuesday the Dallas Cowboys owner was asked about Panthers rookie Xavier Legette telling the world how he loves eating raccoon, and Jones took it a step further by telling an anecdote about how much he loves squirrel brains.

“One of my favorites is squirrel. It’s wonderful. We all had our favorite pieces. … My mom and I would even ask for the brain of the squirrel. Delicious. Seriously.”

I don’t know why this makes me like a billionaire more, but here we are. For what it’s worth the CDC and NIH do NOT recommend eating squirrel brains in any capacity. Not only can they carry a variety of parasites, even when cooked, but are directly linked to the transmission of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease to humans.

Jones’ squirrel-loving memories came after Legette appeared on a podcast to explain his love of raccoon meat, adding that he last ate some raccoon at Thanksgiving.

The NFL is getting more country, and I’m here for it.
