The Spanish call of Jhonkensy Noel’s game-tying home run proves Spanish announcers have more fun
The Cleveland Guardians’ comeback victory in Game 3 of the ALCS was full of incredible moments. From Yankees’ sluggers Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton going back-to-back with home runs, Guardians’ first baseman Josh Naylor basically doing the splits to record an out, culminating in David Fry’s walk-off homer to win it for the Guardians, Game 3 had many incredible moments.
However, the game-tying two-run home run by Guardians’ outfielder Jhonkensy Noel might’ve been the most electric. With the Guardians down in the bottom of the ninth, they needed a Christmas miracle, and Christmas came ringing in October.
The call by Brian Anderson on TBS was incredible, but Cleveland Spanish announcer Rafa Hernandez-Brito took it to another level. Listen to this and tell me you don’t get goosebumps.
Hernandez-Brito belting out “FELIZ NAVIDAD” at the top of his lungs is enough energy to get me fired up, and I’m not even a Guardians fan. Spanish announcers always bring the energy, and in this moment you could feel the passion through his energy and voice, reflective of the Guardians’ moment in the sun.
Rafa Hernandez-Brito, take a bow.
