Aidan Hutchinson immediately knew the injury was serious. We’ll update as more is known.

UPDATE: Pro Football Talk is reporting the cart took Hutchinson to the tunnel where the ambulance is, rather than to the locker room. He’ll get checked out at the hospital before next steps are figured out.

The Detroit Lions are crushing the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6, but they’ve suffered a serious loss in the third quarter. Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson suffered a lower leg injury while he was sacking Dak Prescott and has been ruled out for the rest of the game.

Hutchinson immediately knew something was wrong. He took out his mouthpiece and took off his gloves as the trainers came over to check on him. The trainers put an air cast on his leg and he is headed to the locker room to get get x-rays. He will likely also have an MRI on Monday.

Hutchinson entered the day with a league-leading 6.5 sacks, and was at 7.5 after his sack of Prescott. He was the early favorite to win NFL Defensive Player of the Year with an edge over T.J. Watt, Nick Bosa, and Chris Jones, among others.

Below is video of the injury. It is an ugly injury, so be aware of that if you decide to watch the replay.
