Perez and his wife Ashley, a controversial pair who were quite vocal about the PGA Tour, LIV Golf drama are splitting up.
Pat Perez, a LIV golfer on Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces team, and his wife Ashley are headed for divorce.
She initially filed for separation in Maricopa County, Arizona, on November 29, 2023, according to court documents. Multiple reports suggest that Perez was served with divorce papers less than a week after she filed.
They both took their photos of each other off their Instagram pages. Ashley recently set her Instagram account to private, which is a shock after how active she had been on the platform.
It was through social media that Ashley earned notoriety. In one such post, she implied that Tiger Woods was under the influence during his 2021 car crash.
However, the post that received the most attention was her comments on Rory McIlroy’s Ryder Cup altercation with caddy Joe LaCava. She asked if she was the only one who would “love to watch Rory get punched in the face.”
Perez left the PGA Tour in 2022 for LIV Golf. After his departure news, Ashley supported her husband and took that opportunity to go live on Instagram.
“If you feel the need to say something, go ahead and just f***ing delete me from your page,” she said. “I won’t miss you. This new tour is going to be ICONIC.”
The 47-year-old was handed a contract extension in Nov. 2023 with the 4Aces. A few days after this news broke, Ashley filed for divorce.
Perez and Ashley married on New Year’s Eve in 2014. They have two children together, Piper and Paxton.
The divorce has not been finalized at this time, but it appears she wants to move things along quickly.
