Johnson vented at a fan Friday at The Masters with a wild obscenity, deserving every bit of criticism coming his way.
Zach Johnson was sent packing early from the 88th Masters Tournament. He missed the cut by a single stroke after carding a 3-over 75 Friday.
The par-3 12th was ultimately doomed his chances.
Johnson posted a triple bogey six ruining his round. But it was what happened after he finally sank his putt that lit social media ablaze.
Despite very clearly, on video, telling a patron to “f*** off” after his missed putt, Johnson managed to summon the stones to deny it afterwards.
Of course, fans had a ton of fun with that bit of ridiculousness.
But even Paige Spiranac, the world’s largest golf influencer, chimed in and was spot on with her assessment.
The patrons at Augusta are unbelievably supportive and mild mannered. You can’t find a more pleasant environment to play golf in. The fact ZJ said this proves he’s softer than baby poop. Such a bad look. pic.twitter.com/a5YDgQMPRA

Such a bad look is likely an understatement.
Johnson, for quite some time, had been a fan favorite on the PGA Tour. But as he has gotten older, his game has dissipated rather quickly.
The former Masters champion came under fire this past fall after making his Ryder Cup captains picks for Rome. But that was at least his discretion.
But going off on a fan at Augusta National is just classless. The fact that he then denied it is ignorant to reality of the 21st century.
