When and where will each quarterback go in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Quarterbacks rule everything in the NFL, including the draft and that’s the case again into going into the 2025 NFL Draft. This may not be a great quarterback class, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be an early run at the position.
We’re going to conduct a quarterback mock draft through the seven-round process. Here we go:
First-round quarterbacks
1 overall: Cam Ward, Miami, Tennessee Titans
This is where it seems to be trending, so let’s knock in the gimme.
7 overall: Shedeur Sanders, Colorado, New York Jets
I’m not really buying the talk that Sanders is going to tumble. He has too much potential. Yes, I know Jets fans are talking about Justin Fields, but Fields is on a two-year deal. There’s room for Sanders.
9 overall: Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss, New Orleans Saints
Here’s a big curveball in the Top 10 that will get host city Green Bay buzzing. The Saints will be bummed Sanders if off the board, but they’ll stay in their region and grab Dart. Do I think it’s an overdraft? You bet, but quarterbacks are overdrafted all the time.
Speaking of overdrafts, here’s another one. The Steelers are desperate to find their next quarterback and they are reportedly smitten with Milroe.
Third-round quarterbacks
65 overall: Kyle McCord, Syracuse, New York Giants
After a quiet 40-plus picks at the position, phase two starts with the Giants grabbing McCord. Some scouts think he may be a diamond in the rough.
67 overall: Will Howard, Ohio State, Cleveland Browns
The Browns are disappointed Dart and Milroe didn’t fall to second round, but they grab a player they hope can quickly develop from the home-state champion Buckeyes.
68 overall: Quinn Ewers, Texas, Las Vegas Raiders
New Las Vegas offensive coordinator Chip Kelly is reportedly enamored by Ewers and the Raiders have visited with him. He can sit and learn under Geno Smith for a couple of seasons.
The Seahawks trade up in a deal with the Giants to take Slough who could be a nice player to develop behind Sam Darnold. Slough has a lot of fans in the league.
Fifth-round quarterbacks
140 overall: Dillon Gabriel, Oregon, Los Angeles Rams
The Rams trade up in a deal with Carolina to take the Heisman Trophy finalist. Matthew Stafford is 37 and Sean McVay could have fun with Gabriel.
The 49ers have had success taking a quarterback in the final round recently in Brock Purdy, so general manager John Lynch gives quarterback guru Kyle Shanahan another youngster to work with.
