Opening odds for Super Bowl 59 between the Eagles and Chiefs

We take a look at the opening point spread, total, and moneyline odds for Super Bowl 59, between the Eagles and the Chiefs.

The Philadelphia Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 9 in New Orleans at the Caesars Superdome. The Chiefs have opened as a 1.5-point favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook to win the Super Bowl.

This morning, prior to kickoff of the NFC Championship, FanDuel offered lines for all four possible Super Bowl matchups. The Chiefs were a 1.5-point favorite over the Eagles in that line.

The Eagles finished the 2024 regular season with a 14-3 record. They finished 11-6 against the spread. They faced seven playoff teams during the regular season and finished 5-2 straight up and against the spread. In their three NFC playoff wins, they were favorites in all three games. They covered against the Packers and Commanders, but did not cover against the Rams.

During the regular season, they were underdogs in three games, against the Ravens, Bengals, and Saints. They covered the spread and won outright in all three.

The Eagles are back in the Super Bowl for the second time in three seasons. This marks their fifth Super Bowl appearance. Thus far they’ve won one of those games and covered the spread in two of them. They won and covered against the Patriots in 2018, and prior to that lost but covered against the Patriots in 2005.

The Chiefs finished the 2024 regular season with a 15-2 record. They finished 7-9-1 against the spread. They faced nine playoff teams during the regular season and finished 6-3 straight up and 3-5-1 against the spread. In their two AFC playoff wins, they were favorites in both games and covered against both the Texans and Bills.

During the regular season, they were favorites in 14 games. They won all 14 of them but were just 6-7-1 against the spread.

The Chiefs are back in the Super Bowl with a chance to complete the first ever three-peat in Super Bowl history. In fact, they’re the first team to ever advance to the Super Bowl the season after completing the repeat. This marks their seventh appearance in the Super Bowl. They have won four of those games and also covered in their four wins. They have been the underdog in four of their Super Bowl appearances. In those four games, they are 3-1 straight up and against the spread.
