Spiranac said what everyone had in their minds after Scottie Scheffler and Nelly Korda made history this past weekend.
After watching Nelly Korda win her fifth straight LPGA Tour event and Scottie Scheffler win his fourth PGA Tour title of 2024, Paige Spiranac has issued a declaration.
What these two players are currently doing in men’s and women’s golf is historic. They are demoralizing fields and racking up the money.
Spiranac, like most golf fans, wants something special from them.
“5 straight wins for Nelly Korda! Pretty cool to see Nelly and Scottie dominating. Now we need to see them play a match against each other,” she wrote.

Korda made history Sunday, becoming just the third LPGA Tour player to win five straight tournaments. She joined Nancy Lopez, who did it in 1978, and Annika Sorenstam, who was the last to do it in 2005.
Sorenstam’s fifth victory was also the Chevron Championship, known as the Kraft Nabisco Championship, when she achieved her five straight wins.
Korda is on a roll having earned her 13th career victory.
Meanwhile, the two-time Masters winner had to wait till Monday to make his most recent triumph official. Scheffler earned his first tartan plaid jacket as he won for the 10th time on the PGA Tour. It is the second time this season that the former Texas Longhorn has won back-to-back events.
He won the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players earlier this season.
Spiranac said out loud what many were likely thinking — Pair these two up to see who comes out on top.
There has already been a Captial One’s The Match in 2024, but could there be an exception for Korda and Scheffler?
The golf influencer is not the only person who would love to see a Scheffler-Korda showdown.
I think it’s only right that the next “Match” on TNT that they do is Scottie Scheffler vs Nelly Korda.
They are by far the best golfers on the PGA and LPGA Tour.

The Match™️ but it’s just Nelly and Scottie

Seeing the two top golfers go head-to-head, regardless of gender, would be monumental. It would be a historic moment for the sport. The Match brought in Lexi Thompson and Rose Zhang to this year’s event, so why not take it to the next level?
Spiranac is pointing out the obvious — people want to see this.
