It’s been a long time comin’, and the Jaguars nailed the return
They finally did it.
After years of fans asking for the throwback jerseys to return (including myself), the Jacksonville Jaguars finally did the thing, bringing back the 1999 uniforms in celebration of their 30 years as an NFL franchise, and sweet Jesus they’re beautiful.
This is one of my favorite moments as a Jaguars fan. I can’t describe to you the smile that crept up on my face watching Leon Searcy rap in the trailer for the jerseys and the old clips of the Jaguars. Honoring the ones that came before you is a super cool aspect that the Jaguars absolutely nailed, and in doing so they bring back the best uniforms in Jaguars history.
Also, just look at those unis. THE BIG CAT IS BACK ON THE SHOULDERS! The curved numbers give the uniforms so much more personality, as does the small yellow shading on the numbers.
The Jaguars will be wearing these on Week 5 against the Colts, the same week where former head coach Tom Coughlin will go into the Pride of the Jaguars, their own Ring of Honor. It’s really going to feel like 1999.
These are now the best throwbacks in the NFL, I don’t make the rules.
