Tiger Woods makes absolute mess of Masters hole, takes “worst cart ride” in golf

Woods played beautifully Friday at The Masters. Things have sadly gone off the rails since and didn’t get any better Sunday.

Following Friday’s second round of The Masters, Tiger Woods beat out a ton of stars making the cut. In doing so, he set the record for the most consecutive cuts made at Augusta National with 24.

That was the high point of the week for Woods. Following a career-worst 82 Saturday, taking him completely out of the tournament, Tiger played Sunday with a bit less pressure.

Unfortunately, things have continued to tailspin.

Following an early birdie on the par-5 2nd, Woods bogeyed the 3rd before making a complete mess on the par-4 5th.

Tiger’s tee shot sailed wildly right deep into the trees. Knowing that he might not be able to find it, Woods then hit a provisional. To no one’s surprise, he split the fairway.

Too bad it didn’t count.

Woods ultimately found his ball but it was nestled in an area that was unplayable. Even two club lengths of relief would not have made it so he could attempt a shot. He was forced to take an unplayable lie.

Therefore, Tiger had to go all the way back up to the tee box. It is the one instance a player is allowed to use a golf cart during their round, to maintain pace of play.

Woods then hit his third tee shot of the hole, technically speaking.

He ultimately carded a triple bogey seven. He followed that up with another bogey on six before a string of pars.

Sadly, Woods is going to finish dead last of all players to have made the cut.

That prompts the question, have we seen the last of Tiger contending in majors?
