The first full Sunday of the 2024 NFL season has been A LOT.
Already this morning we’ve seen Tyreek Hill detained by police ahead of the Miami Dolphins’ season-opening game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Dak Prescott becoming the highest-paid player in NFL history as he and the Dallas Cowboys finally inked a long-awaited contract extension, Jim Harbaugh listing defensive tackle Scott Matlock as a two-way player, complete with a number change from 99 to 44, and Kendrick Lamar announced as the halftime performer for this season’s Super Bowl.
And the early slate of games has not even kicked off.
Now we have this: Ryan Fitzpatrick partnering with Shake Shack — and channeling his inner George Costanza — in a promotion for the fast food franchise. Fair warning, this is not your typical “Sunday morning content:”
Again, we have not even seen games begin yet, and we have this wild list of incidents, promotions, and contract extensions. Certainly, the sight of the former quarterback, with some conveniently placed boxes of burgers, will be a tough thing to beat.
But we have 13 games coming our way today, including Tom Brady’s long-anticipated debut in the booth for FOX Sports. So buckle up football fans, we have a long day ahead.
