The Philadelphia Eagles announced some changes in the front office including a new job, or jobs, for Dom DiSandro
Remember Dom DiSandro?
The member of the Philadelphia Eagles staff was a participant in one of the more bizarre moments of the entire 2023-2024 NFL season. During the highly-anticipated — and highly-charged — rematch of the NFC Championship Game between the Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers DiSandro, who was on the sidelines as part of his role as Philadelphia’s Chief Security Officer, got into an altercation with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw.
You can see the entire incident here:
Both Greenlaw and DiSandro were ejected from the game, which the 49ers won by a final score of 42-19. Following the game Walt Anderson, the NFL’s Senior Vice President of Officiating, stated that DiSandro was ejected for “contributing” to the escalation on the sideline.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni defended DiSandro, even though he apologized to San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan after the game. “He’s going to always try to defuse situations,” said Sirianni. “That’s what he does. That’s his job.”
Will that remain his job?
We ask because the Eagles announced on Thursday that DiSandro has a new job title. The team unveiled a number of new personnel changes in their organization, including DiSandro’s new role: Senior Advisor to the General Manager/Chief Security Officer/Gameday Coaching Operations.
12 words and 3 slashes. That is quite the job title.
Following the incident with Greenlaw, DiSandro was banned from the Eagles’ sideline for the remainder of the regular season, and fined $100,000.
But now, for his 25th season with the Eagles, he has a sparkling new job title. One that is longer than your typical cheesesteak.
Depending on where you go, of course …
