Joe Flacco is taking over in Indianapolis as the Colts make a QB change

A quarterback change is coming to the Indianapolis Colts.

After Anthony Richardson struggled in a loss to the Houston Texans last Sunday, particularly in the first half when he completed just 2-of-15 passes for 81 yards, a touchdown, and an interception — head coach Shane Steichen is making a change.

Richardson is out, and veteran Joe Flacco is in:

Richardson finished Sunday’s game against the Texans having completed just 10-of-32 passes for 175 yards, the touchdown, and the interception. Addressing the media on Monday, Steichen conceded that everything was being evaluated regarding the Colts’ struggling offense, including the quarterback position. “We’re evaluating everything,” Steichen said regarding Indianapolis’ upcoming game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Pressed on whether Richardson was still the team’s starter, Steichen said, “Right now, today, he is, yes.”

Now that has changed.

Flacco has appeared in four games this season, including one snap against the Texans when Richardson took himself out for a play, with a pair of starts. On the season, Flacco has completed 65.7% of his passes for 716 yards and 7 touchdowns, with just one interception.

So far this year Richardson has completed 44.4% of his passes for 958 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions.
