Georgia tops the list, but who else rounds out the top 25?
Can you feel football season in the air? Target is putting out Halloween decorations in August, and the AP Top 25 has released its preseason poll for the 25 best college teams in the country. We are so close to being back.
It’s 2024, and this season is going to be full of change. There’s a 12 team playoff now, and the Pac-12 doesn’t exist. Cam Ward is at Miami now, and DJ Uiagalelei is a Florida State Seminole. Nick Saban is in the booth now, instead on the sideline.
Yet, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Georgia is ranked No. 1 again, as the Bulldogs try and win three titles in four years. Ohio State has arguably the most talented roster in the sport, but needs to get over the Michigan hump. Speaking of Michigan, Jim Harbaugh’s khakis aren’t on the sideline this year (neither is Conor Stallions), but the Wolverines have the defense to stay at the top. Michigan’s fall to No. 9 is one of the largest for a defending champion in the modern history of the sport.
Here’s the preseason AP Top 25:
1 . Georgia Bulldogs
2. Ohio State Buckeyes
3. Oregon Ducks
4. Texas Longhorns
5. Alabama Crimson Tide
6. Ole Miss Rebels
7. Notre Dame fighting Irish
