Bold move.
The Connor Stalions controversy isn’t just the biggest scandal to rock Michigan football in 2023, but all of college football. Despite resigning from the program and facing an NCAA investigation, Stalions just couldn’t stay well enough away from Michigan — even at the Rose Bowl.
I can confirm that Connor Stalions was indeed at the Rose Bowl, per multiple sources.
Former Michigan LB Chase Winovich posted this on his IG story yesterday as well: pic.twitter.com/Sx2T7LI3FJ

Former Michigan defensive end Chase Winovich, who played five seasons in the NFL — predominantly with the Patriots, posted a photo of Stalions sitting just a few rows behind the Michigan bench. He even went so far as to tag Stalions in the picture, just so you really know he was there.
There’s no love lost between Michigan and the Big Ten over the decision to suspend Jim Harbaugh for three games this season. Still, having Stalions present at the Rose Bowl is a major statement that everyone inside the program would have been aware of.
We’ll see to wait and see if there’s any fallout from the decision to have Stalions present at the Rose Bowl during the investigation. It’s a bizarre decision to welcome a distraction like this with the National Championship Game around the corner.
