Don’t worry this hockey player didn’t spit out his teeth, only PART OF HIS JAW

Hockey player has jaw dropping realization after being hit by hockey puck.

Hockey players aren’t normal. Just watch an episode of Shoresy, or, well … any NHL game. Last week Barclay Goodrow of the Rangers took a puck to the face in a game against Ottawa and it appeared he lost a tooth — which is a pretty normal occurrence. The actual story is much worse.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Goodrow confirmed that he thankfully didn’t actually lose any teeth thanks to the puck. He did, however, LOSE ANOTHER PART OF HIS JAW AND HE ISN’T REALLY SURE WHAT IT WAS!

Barclay Goodrow says he didn’t lose any teeth when he took that puck to the face. He spit out some other part of his jaw.

He’s doing okay, trying to figure out how to get all his proteins while not being able to eat solid food for a month.#NYR

Now, I’m no maxillofacial surgeon, but I’m thinking it’s probably not great to spit out a random piece of your jaw and not thing about retrieving it. Just imagine for a moment that this is what actually happened. I’m sorry, but we’ve got to paint a word picture here.

Barclay Goodrow is skating along and a puck flies into his face. A piece of his jaw bone breaks off, makes it through the interior skin of his mouth and suddenly he’s got a piece of bone in there. Thinking it’s a tooth he spits it out, and goes on about his night. It’s not until later he sees all his teeth are still there — meaning he LOST SOME BONE, before thinking “probably no biggie.”

Hockey players aren’t human. They just aren’t.
