Joe Flacco ran for a touchdown in practice and everyone laughed at his old ass

Run Joe, run.

Joe Flacco was never much of a runner, even when he was young — so when the 39-year-old quarterback scampered into the end zone during the Colts-Bengals joint practice it stunned everyone.

4. The first string defense made it rough on Colts starter Anthony Richardson, but 39-year-old Joe Flacco made a few plays against the Bengals’ backups — including this TD run.
“He’s a cigar store Indian — he stands in the pocket,” joked Vonn Bell. “But he surprised us today.” pic.twitter.com/aAgrQs5ukU

I don’t know if any athlete wants to see a play met with laughter from their opponents, but Flacco’s run was so unexpected that the Bengals defense could only just laugh it off and realize this wasn’t something they’d need to worry about in 2024.

Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo wasn’t mad with his team for allowing the TD — instead he was just cracking up.

Joe Flacco just took off on a scramble for a big gain.
Both teams are roaring in laughter.
Lou is doubled over and can’t believe it.

At this point Flacco has played 16 years in the NFL and his career rushing stats are — well:

377 carries for 867 yards.

Now, that might not seem terrible in isolation, but keep in mind that he’s played since “Low” by Flo Rida was the No. 1 song in the country and he still hasn’t hit 1,000 career rushing yards, and likely never will.

At least Von Bell thinks Flacco still has some life left in him.

We’d tell Joe Flacco to never change, but old dogs can’t learn new tricks anyway.
