There is no men’s event, so turn the focus towards the LPGA after they dominated coverage last week at the Solheim Cup.
Last week, the most-watched golf tournament did not feature men.
The Solheim Cup saw 657,000 viewers on Sunday, more than double the coverage saw in 2023.
Team USA won 15.5 to 12.5 over Team Europe, marking their first Solheim Cup victory since 2017. Last year, both teams finished 14-14, but Team Europe retained the Cup because they won it in 2021.
That Sunday, 277,000 viewers watched. Granted, it was in Spain, so the time difference likely affected the ratings. Regardless, it was fantastic to see women’s golf lead the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV Golf.
Women’s golf is entertaining, and this past weekend was proof.
That coverage also sets up for fans to watch the LPGA this week. There is no PGA Tour event. Yes, the BMW PGA Championship is in England, but regardless, the LPGA has a chance to be at the forefront.
The LPGA is in Maineville, Ohio, at TPC River’s Bend for the Kroger Queen City Championship, featuring some of the best women on Tour.
Minjee Lee won this event last year and looks to defend her title.
Victorious Team USA members in the field include World No. 1 Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson and 4-0-0 rockstar Rose Zhang.

Charley Hull, Linn Grant, Georgia Hall, Leona Maguire and Esther Henseleit are the Team Europe members playing in Ohio.
Not to mention, Lydia Ko, Haeran Ryu, Yuka Saso, Linnea Strom, Jeeno Thitikul and Amy Yang are all winners in 2024 that will play.
This tournament is a must-watch event. The stage is clear for fans who love golf to give these women the support they deserve.
Hull seems to be very confident coming off the Solheim Cup. She led Team Europe with the most points scored. Georgia Hall should also have some confidence going into Ohio because she played well in Virginia.

Team USA also has a lot of momentum coming off their big win. Zhang has played some of the best golf since becoming a professional.
There is no reason for people not to watch the LPGA this week. Sure, many will likely play golf or watch college football. I don’t blame you there, but at the same time, turn on the LPGA and give these ladies a chance.
Give women’s golf a chance and help them keep growing into a more equal professional golf realm. These ladies are talented, and the average golfer can learn a lot from them — more than they could from the PGA Tour players.
