Åberg put his creativity on display at a snowy golf course in Sweden as the PGA Tour rookie showed fans how he can adapt.

This offseason, Ludvig Åberg spent the holidays in Eslöv, Sweden where he showcased how they creatively play golf during the winter months.

The 24-year-old PGA Tour rookie must practice, regardless of the weather, and it produced an insightful video with the PGA Tour.

“This is where I come back every time I’m home. It’s a really cool place in my heart,” he said. “It’s pretty unusual to have this much snow and this cold this time of year.”

Most people carry a ball retriever in their bag, but not Åberg.

“You got to be a little creative with your practice and what you try to do,” Åberg said. “When the snow is powdery, you can always use a broomstick. I keep it in my bag. The biggest challenge is probably to get the tee in the ground.”

Åberg put the broom to use to clear space for his tee and even hit bunker shots through the snow.

“It’s hard to do your normal practice. Putting is hard, obviously, but at the end of the day, it is what it is, and you figure it out.”

The video took off on social media, prompting fans to give both hot and cold reactions.

Most of the reactions to Åberg’s video were positive or provided a chuckle.

I played golf in Sweden, on a trip in 2008. But it was June and we played till 11:00 p.m. because of the long days at that latitude, and it was wonderful.

That final reaction, illustrating that Åberg has that dog in him, should resonate with fans around the world. It takes a certain kind of person to persevere and play golf in the snow.

Åberg is a rising star, PGA Tour winner, Ryder Cup rock star, and could become Rookie of the Year.

This videos exemplifies just how diverse golf can be across the globe. It’s important to share these stories because the game isn’t played the same for everyone, and it is easy to overlook that fact.
