Luka Doncic did pushups right in front of Mavericks GM Nico Harrison

This was too good.

Sometimes coincidence is so uncanny that it moves into hilarity, and that’s exactly what happened on Tuesday night. The first meeting between the Lakers and Mavericks since the Luka Doncic trade was always going to be awkward, but it turned surreal as Luka banged out a set of push ups right in front of the Mavericks GM who questioned his conditioning.

It doesn’t matter than the real reason Doncic was doing the pushups was because he missed three half court shots in a row during warmups, because the moment itself was just too good. This happened on the same night fans in Los Angeles thanked Nico Harrison for the trade, chanting his name mockingly for giving them a new star.

It was unclear whether or not the Mavs would do everything in their power to shut down Docic on Tuesday to make a point, but ultimately it still went badly for them. Doncic finshed with 19 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists in the Lakers’ win … and a handful of push ups for good measure.
