Patrick Mahomes to Xavier Worthy looks dangerous already for the Chiefs

The Chiefs added Xavier Worthy at the end of the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and you can see exactly why in this clip from training camp

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to become the first team in NFL history to three-peat as Super Bowl Champions this season.

In that effort, the team added a new asset for Mahomes in the passing game, and that combination is already looking very dangerous in training camp.

The Chiefs are back to work ahead of the 2024 NFL season and were practicing Sunday in preparation for their first preseason game, which comes on August 10th against the Jacksonville Jaguars. At one point during Sunday’s practice, Mahomes rolled out to his left before casually flicking a deep shot across his body to one of his newest teammates, wide receiver Xavier Worthy.

What happened next might scare the rest of the AFC:

The fine folks at KC Sports Network had an even better view of the play, as Mahomes makes a throw like this look easy, and Worthy finds a way to get behind the coverage deep downfield:

Yes, this is just one clip from practice, but you can see Mahomes doing Mahomes things, and Worthy showing his speed.

The Chiefs added Worthy at the end of the first round, trading up from the No. 32 pick to No. 28 in a deal with the Buffalo Bills to add the Texas wide receiver. At the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine Worthy led the way with a 4.21 40-yard dash, the quickest time ever recorded in the history of the event.

And now, you can see exactly what the Chiefs are hoping that trade in the first round will deliver this fall.
