Jared Goff and Anthony Richardson combined for some bizarre first half stats Sunday

Sunday’s early NFL window gave football fans two incredible quarterback stat lines, courtesy of Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions, as well as Anthony Richardson and the Indianapolis Colts.

Up in Detroit the Lions were hosting the Tennessee Titans and exploded for 35 points in the first half to head to the locker room with a 35-14 lead.

Those 35 points were more than the 28 yards Goff managed to throw for in the first half. The Lions quarterback, who is playing perhaps the best football of his career this season, completed just 6-of-8 passes for 28 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the first half.

One of those touchdowns came on this short toss to wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown:

Goff was not the only member of the Lions offense to throw a touchdown. Running back David Montgomery got in on the action on this halfback toss play, connecting with tight end Sam LaPorta on this short touchdown throw:

As luck would have it, Detroit added another touchdown before their offense took the field in the second half, as the Lions defense forced a punt on Tennessee’s possession to open the third quarter.

Kalif Raymond returned the punt for a 90-yard touchdown, giving the Lions 42 points on the afternoon, with Goff still sitting at 28 passing yards.

Then there is the half Richardson put on the field in Houston against the Texans. Richardson completed just 2-of-15 passes in the first half, for 81 yards and a touchdown.

The touchdown was this 69-yard strike to Josh Downs to give the Colts an early lead:

However, Richardson threw a brutal interception just before halftime, which helped gift the Texans the halftime lead:

Houston would score shortly thereafter, on a touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud to Tank Dell.

It has been a somewhat bizarre NFL Sunday so far, but these two stat lines lead the way.
