USC football gives us a taste of the holidays against Penn State

After a field goal against Penn State, the USC sideline gave us a slight taste of ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’

October is the best month of the year, for numerous reasons.

Sports is a huge part of that. Not only do you have the NFL and college football seasons getting into full swing, but you have playoffs in the MLB and the WNBA, the NBA returning to action, and even the return of the NBA. Motorsport fans also have the NASCAR playoffs, and an F1 season heading into the final stretch, with a race in the United States with next weekend’s United States Grand Prix in Austin.

Of course, another reason that October is a tremendous month is that it is the runway to the holiday season. Halloween kicks things off at the end of the month, but that leads us into Thanksgiving here in the United States, followed by the December holidays.

Meaning that the holiday television specials are also right around the corner.

USC tried to kick things off a little early, in their game Saturday against No. 4 Penn State. After a Michael Lantz field goal early in the second quarter staked the Trojans to a 17-3 lead, they lined up for the ensuing kickoff. Over on the USC sidelines, however, it looked like the dance scene right out of “A Charlie Brown Christmas:”

It is hard to pick out a favorite, but it might be wide receiver Asante Das, who is giving us the closest thing to a Linus impression.

For reference:

Happy October everyone.
