There are some fun prop bets on the board for Super Bowl LIX.
There’s so much to the Super Bowl than just the game itself.
There are the parties, the food, the halftime show and the betting. Oh, do we love the Super Bowl betting part.
It’s the greatest opportunity for sports bettors to get action. Of course, the heartbeat of Super Bowl wagers comes in the form of prop bets where endless possibilities are available spanning from typical football bets to the absurd.
Saquon Barkley and Kareem Hunt combining for 200-plus rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns (+550)
On paper, there is a lot to get done to make this ticket cash. But the right men are on the job. Barkley is a machine. The Eagles’ star tailback could conceivably accomplish these stats by himself. But Hunt is a worthy accomplice. In the championship round, Barkley and Hunt combined for 182 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. In the divisional round, they combined for 249 yards and three scores. This is a great price for an extremely manageable cash.
Saquon Barkley to record 25-plus yards in each quarter (+750)
I’m bullish on Barkley having a big game because he’s Barkley and he’s having arguably the greatest season (and postseason) by a running back in NFL history. We might as well ride it. The Eagles’ formula to pulling off the slight upset is set a game plan surrounded by Barkley. It will take a full four-quarter game plan to pull this off. Barkley gaining 25 yards each quarter in a game that should be close throughout is reasonable and it’s at a great price.
Xavier Worthy to win MVP (31-1)
When it comes to the MVP, the task is to pick one candidate from each team who is a longshot but a reasonable case can be made for that player winning the award. An easy case can be made for the Chiefs’ rookie wide receiver who was their first-round pick. Worthy has been making his presence felt since late in the regular season. He has game-breaking speed. Let’s say he and Patrick Mahomes connect for two long touchdown and it’s the difference in the game. It’s possible and at these odds it’s worth a small investment.
Jalen Carter to win MVP (75-1)
Our Eagles’ MVP longshot is a real moonshot. But I can sleep knowing I’m backing the Philadelphia defensive tackle on a lottery ticket. Carter is a game-wrecker. He can be dominant. If the Eagles win and shut down Mahomes and the Chiefs and Carter gets two or three sacks and forces a turnover, 75-1 could look pretty good.
Either team score a touchdown on opening drive (+106)
These are two high-flying offenses that have scored a combined 19 touchdowns in five postseason games and in a matchup with a total of 48.5 points. Points will scored. Getting plus odds on one of these two teams reaching the end zone on their first series in a value opportunity to profit.
Travis Kelce first player to reach 20 plus receiving yards (+430)
The Chiefs are going to come out throwing and Mahomes will look to his favorite target. Kelce is a bright-lights player and I can see the Chiefs wanting to establish that right away. In fact, I could see a nice pay day cashing on the Chiefs’ first play from scrimmage. This is a comfortable, high-value bet.
