The Chiefs will be without kicker Harrison Butker for at least a month. We break down the fantasy football implications.

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker suffered a left knee injury and is expected to miss upwards of a month, per Tom Pelissero. He could end up on injured reserve, but even if he does not, he will not be back until December at the earliest.

Butker entered Week 11 ranked 13th in total points. He hasn’t been his usual stellar self, but he’s been good enough to slot into lineups and ride with him all season. He is rostered in 96% of leagues, which means there are a lot of fantasy football managers looking for a new kicker heading into Week 11.

The Chiefs do not have another kicker on their roster, so they’ll sign a free agent to kick for them this weekend against the Bills. Whomever that is will be available in most leagues and is not a bad choice. Other options available in at least 50% of Yahoo! leagues that are not on bye this weekend include:

  • Blake Grupe, Saints (12%)
  • Wil Lutz, Broncos (9%)
  • Daniel Carlson, Raiders (5%)
  • Matt Gay, Colts (13%)
  • Joshua Karty, Rams (5%)
  • Brandon McManus, Packers (6%)

McManus is currently getting the highest projection at Yahoo! as the Packers travel to face a bad Bears squad. Grupe has a solid home game against the Browns that should see some fairly prolific scoring. Check out our rundown of kicker starts and fades for Week 11.
