Timothée Chalamet: Sports expert, was the plot twist nobody saw coming

Muad’Dib knows ball.

Is there anything Timothée Chalamet can’t do? This week one of the world’s brightest young movie stars went on College Gameday to promote his new Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, and used the time to absolutely steal the show with some of the best knowledge from a special guest ever.

Obviously he went into this with some key stats written down to guide his decisions, but it’s also extremely clear that the dude knows ball. After watching these clips several times I absolutely believe Chalamet wrote his own picks and did his own research, because the way he talks about football shows a clear understanding of the game. There’s just something about his cadence and his tone that proves this isn’t someone who is absolutely lost reading off cue cards, but a dedicated sports fan.

This really bore out when he was the only person at the desk to pick Ohio over Miami (OH), and my goodness did Timothee eat with that pick.

Naturally everyone lost it when Chalamet dropped his knowledge, and that led to people going down the rabbit hole of his die-hard sports fandom. It turns out he’s a dedicated Knicks fan, which tracks considering he grew up in the city — but it’s on a whole other level when you bring a jersey for Amar’e Stoudemire to sign outside of a Broadway show.

Or when tiny Timothee Chalamet won Knicks tickets from Landry Fields when he was 14-years-old by finding him in the city.

He also is very careful about his curated Twitter follows.

The last great question is who Chalamet should play in a sports movie and there’s one very clear answer which can only be told in the style of a trailer.

This Holiday season there’s only one story left untold.

Announcer: “And that’s ANOTHER touchdown from the icon”

One man who would redefine football forever.

Alabama fan: You’re a long way from home, city boy.

One name that would lift a city.
